Woodcote Volunteers are seeking someone, whether already volunteering with us or not, to help us reach out to our clients and represent their views at our committee meetings. Client Liaison is a new volunteer role.
Ideally, you will have some previous experience of carrying out this kind of role, although it is not essential. Our client base is largely but not exclusively from the older, retired and often disabled section of our community. Therefore, if you are used to engaging empathetically with people who might struggle with communication that would be an advantage.
You will need to have a DBS check and undertake safeguarding training if you have not already done so.
This is a new role, so can be developed by the person taking it on, but we imagine your responsibilities would include the following:
Contact a sample of clients by phone to get feedback on a regular basis
Prepare and send out a newsletter to clients two or three times a year as deemed appropriate.
Attend some of the Tea Parties that we provide for clients on the first Wednesday afternoon of each month, to get feedback and to meet some clients face to face.
Report client views and input to the committee at our meetings which are held on a Wednesday evening about 4 times a year, plus we have an AGM.
Try to attend social events and help if you can at our Fete stalls, the Rally and fundraising coffee mornings.
In total, we anticipate that the time requirement would be an average of 1 hour per week.
Thank you for your interest. If you would like more information and/or an informal chat, please send your details to our volunteer coordinator Jane Forde by email: info@woodcotevolunteers.org.uk
