Woodcote Volunteers…..the essentials
Woodcote Volunteers began life in 1983 and has been helping the community continuously since then, with the exception of the period between March 2020 and June 2021, when we had to close due to Covid restrictions. We are all volunteers – we have no paid staff.
Woodcote Volunteers are a charity, registered with the Charity Commission and take our responsibilities as a charity seriously. We operate with the requirements and guidance of the Charity Commission and other voluntary sector bodies in the forefront of our mind. Our Constitution sets out our aims and how we operate.
Governance
We have five trustees, who include the Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. They, along with six others, form the managing committee who meet regularly to discuss the running of the charity.
Volunteers
Alongside those listed above, we have thirty-five volunteer drivers, thirteen volunteer office helpers, a communications co-ordinator and one person who helps with our IT/website matters.
Funding
We receive funding from a variety of sources, that change from year to year but are grateful to receive annual grants from Woodcote, Checkendon and Goring Heath Parish Councils.
In recent years, we have also received financial help from:
- Donations by individuals
- The Co-op community fund
- Woodcote Rally
- Fund raising
- Grant applications
- The Richard Godlee Fund
Donations are always gratefully received. If you would like to make a donation please use this link https://donate.justgiving.com/donation-amount?uri=aHR0cHM6Ly9kb25hdGUtYXBpLmp1c3RnaXZpbmcuY29tL2FwaS9kb25hdGlvbnMvMmFlMTk0ZTY4NjZmNDdjMWJkMDdmMDU2OTc3YTBiODg/aXNDaGVja291dEFwaT1mYWxzZQ==
