As much notice as possible is preferred when booking a driver however we appreciate that sometimes appointments may come up at short notice and we will always do our best to help where we can.
How far will the driver travel?
Our driver service covers a range of approx 20 miles from your home. Do check with the office if you need clarification.

Please refer to our section on wheelchair accessibility for more details.
Can I bring my assistance dog?
Please inform the office that you wish to bring an assistance dog and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Can I stop at a shop on the way back from an appointment?
Some of our drivers are on a schedule so may not be able to allow more time to help on the day. It is best to ask the office in advance if this would be possible to add onto your booking.
Are your drivers DBS checked?
All of our drivers are DBS checked and all wear Woodcote Volunteers ID badges.
Are you still taking precautions for Covid-19?
We take safety of our volunteers and others very seriously and if you are concerned about Covid-19 then please do let the office know – we will make sure that the driver carries out the relevant precautions (face masks, hand sanitiser, open windows etc.) to provide you with a safe journey.
Is there a charge for your service?
We do not make a charge but ask that you pay the driver’s expenses directly to the driver in cash. The expenses rate is 45p per mile or £1.50 flat rate if the journey is wholly within Woodcote. When you book a driver, the office helper will inform you of the approximate amount of cash you will need to pass on to your driver for their expenses. If the amount will cause you financial difficulty, please tell the office helper as we can offer assistance with the cost.
If you are struggling financially and need help with the driver’s expenses for hospital appointments, please see our section on this on the driver service page.
